Tonight we had spaghetti for dinner.
Seemed pretty routine.
I set up all the food on the stove, garlic bread, noodles, sauce & green beans. Like a buffet for Jordan & I to go through. I get Camryn's food all cut up and ready to serve to her, we say the blessing & while Jordan is blessing the food I peek at Camryn and start busting up.
She is reaching with one index finger, then switching to the other one for a better reach on her half a piece of bread & bowl, which I strategically pushed just out of her grasp, while Jordan quickly finishes the prayer & I relate to him our daughters anxiousness.
He says, "Camryn, you weren't very reverent during the prayer. You didn't fold your arms."
She does so at this moment with those big eyes staring up at him all innocent-like.
I walk away laughing & mimicking her reaching. Ready to start making my own plate.
I am grabbing a fork when all of the sudden Camryn screeches "sad it!"
I lean around Jordan to see what the heck is going on with her end of the table & she is sitting there, in her bib, fork mashed vertically into her bowl of spaghetti & green beans with this look of sheer frustration furrowed into her brow.
& we realize she is yelling "stab it!"
[i am laughing hysterically right now , wiping my eyes frantically with a tissue and trying to finish while jordan is making fun of me, but you HAD to see her face! it had priceless annoyance written all over it!]
See we taught Camryn to stab her food with her fork & scoop with her spoon. So she was trying to get those noodles on there the best she could when that blood curdling scream came out!
That little girl is so much fun & is learning so much.
Hopefully we can keep laughing about her sweet moments she gives us along the way.
